Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has vowed never to present the budget while fasting during Ramzan again. After presenting the budget on the sixth day of Ramzan fasting, Abdullah admitted that he faced immense difficulty in speaking for nearly one hour and 45 minutes without water.
This was a historic moment, as Abdullah was the first chief minister to present the budget himself while holding the finance minister portfolio. He expressed that he could have rescheduled the budget session but chose not to. Abdullah stated that in the future, he will either prepone or postpone the session or request the Speaker to schedule it around 6:30 pm, after breaking his fast.
