Unidentified thieves broke open a donation box at the revered Khanyar shrine of Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) overnight, fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash. Sajad-e-Nisheen Khalid Jeelani confirmed the theft, calling it a “disturbing violation of sanctity.”
Police have registered a case and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the culprits. This comes just a day after a similar theft at a Kulgam shrine, raising concerns about targeted crimes at religious sites.
