Two Shops Sealed in Beerwah For Selling Expired Food Items

Authorities in Beerwah took swift action against two shops found selling expired food items during a market inspection. Led by Tehsildar Beerwah, Moin Kokru, a joint team from Food Safety, Police, and Municipality confirmed the validity of complaints against the shops, prompting their immediate closure.

Tehsildar Beerwah issued stern warnings to meat sellers, emphasizing the need to adhere to government-fixed prices and display rate lists clearly. He cautioned that any violations would invite legal action.

The crackdown also targeted unethical trading practices, with all food business operators instructed to refrain from selling expired items. Failure to comply will result in action under the Food Safety and Standards Act.

This drive against overpricing and malpractices is set to continue across the district, ensuring consumer rights are protected. The move sends a strong message to businesses, prioritizing consumer safety and well-being.
