A tragic accident in Kulgam’s Baihama area claimed the life of a non-local toddler on Tuesday when the child was crushed by a JCB at a brick kiln.
The victim has been identified as Narender Kumar, son of Ramanand Kumar, officials confirmed.According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred when the toddler somehow came under the heavy machinery at the worksite.
Local authorities have not yet disclosed how the child accessed the operational area or whether family members were present at the time of the accident.
Police have registered the case and launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal incident. The tragedy has renewed concerns about safety measures at construction sites and industrial zones, particularly regarding child protection near heavy equipment.
