A young boy drowned in Arin Nallah in Bandipora district on Friday afternoon, triggering an urgent rescue operation. Local authorities and emergency teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving reports of the incident. As of now, search efforts are still underway to locate the boy, whose identity and the exact circumstances leading to the drowning remain unclear.
Police have taken cognizance of the tragic incident and are coordinating with State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams in the ongoing rescue mission. Local volunteers have also joined the search operation along the watercourse. Medical teams remain on standby at the site as authorities work to determine the boy’s identity and notify his family.
This marks yet another drowning incident in Kashmir’s water bodies during the monsoon season, raising fresh concerns about safety measures near rivers and streams.
