National Conference MP Agha Ruhullah Mehdi criticized Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Sonmarg, calling it “unnatural” and “divine wrath.” Ruhullah noted that sunshine during Chilai Kalan, a period of harsh winter in Kashmir, is not a blessing but rather an ominous sign.
Ruhullah emphasized that the National Conference must stick to its ideological commitments, particularly regarding Article 370, which he believes was a direct assault on Kashmir’s constitutional rights. He warned that if the party fails to fulfill its promises, it will be seen as a betrayal by the people.
Ruhullah also highlighted the importance of accountability, stating that Kashmiris have a long political memory and will not forget unkept promises. He expressed his commitment to opposing systems that suppress people’s rights and upholding the values of internal democracy within the National Conference.
