Stray Dog Attack Leaves Srinagar Man Critically Injured After Bike Chase

A terrifying encounter with stray dogs left a Bemina resident fighting for his life after his motorcycle crashed during a frantic chase. Naseer Ahmed Khan, a middle-aged resident of MIG Colony, lost control of his bike near Bemina on Saturday when a pack of aggressive strays reportedly pursued him, according to local news agency Kashmir News Trust (KNT).

Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene as Khan’s vehicle skidded violently, throwing him onto the road with devastating force. Local residents rushed Khan to JVC Bemina Hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with severe head injuries. Medical staff confirmed his condition remains critical, leaving family members and neighbors in distress.

“This could have happened to any of us,” said one shaken bystander. “These dogs have become a constant danger, especially at night when they move in packs.” The incident has reignited public anger over Srinagar’s escalating stray dog crisis, with residents demanding immediate municipal action.

Despite previous complaints, the city continues to see frequent attacks, including a recent case where a child was mauled in a similar incident. Community leaders are now calling for an emergency meeting with civic authorities to implement sterilization programs or other humane solutions. (Source: KNT)
