Srinagar Police Attach ₹50 Lakh Drug Peddler’s Property in NDPS Crackdown

In a major crackdown on narcotics networks, Srinagar Police on Monday attached a ₹50 lakh residential property belonging to notorious drug peddler Hilal Ahmad Bhat of Bemina.

The single-storey house in Hamdaniya Colony, allegedly acquired through drug trafficking profits, was seized under Sections 68-E and 68-F of the NDPS Act. Bhat, accused in FIR No. 01/2025 (Police Station Karan Nagar), has a history of supplying narcotics, particularly targeting local youth.

The property has been legally barred from sale or transfer without official permission. Police confirmed the action followed proper procedure, emphasizing their strategy to dismantle drug networks by targeting their financial assets. “This seizure disrupts the economic backbone of drug operations in Srinagar,” officials stated.

This marks the latest in J&K Police’s sustained anti-drug campaign. Authorities urged public cooperation, sharing helpline number 9596770550 for drug-related tips. “Eradicating this menace requires community participation,” the statement read, reaffirming commitment to a drug-free Srinagar.
