A fatal road accident occurred near the Nayvug Tunnel in Qazigund on Tuesday evening, resulting in one death and four critical injuries. The accident involved a Hector vehicle that lost control, skidded off the road, and crashed into a temporary police structure.
The deceased, Zubair Ahmad Wani, a resident of Heer Pora, Shopian, died on the spot due to the impact of the crash. The injured, including Irshad Ahmad Mir, Mushtaq Ahmad Dalal, Umar Bashir Najar, and Special Police Officer Showkat Ahmad, were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle was traveling from Jammu at high speed before the driver lost control. Locals gathered at the scene, and police and rescue teams arrived to assist the victims and clear the site. Authorities have taken cognizance of the incident, and further details are awaited.
