Security Forces Bust Terror Hideout in Kupwara, Recover RPG Launcher

In a major breakthrough, security forces uncovered and destroyed a terrorist hideout in the dense forests of Upper Durd Hafruda in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.

Official sources told Kashmir News Corner (KNC) that the Chinar Warriors (Army’s Kupwara-based unit) conducted a precision search operation based on specific intelligence inputs. During the raid, troops recovered a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launcher, AK-47 ammunition, and other war-like stores, suggesting preparations for potential terror strikes in the region. “The seizure of such heavy weaponry indicates plans for major attacks, which have been thwarted,” a security source said.

The hideout was subsequently demolished. Further investigations are underway to track down those linked to the cache. (Inputs from KNC)
