Police in Awantipora have detained two high-profile drug dealers under the stringent Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act, following orders from competent authorities.
The accused have been identified as:
1. Sameer Ahmad Bhat (alias Sameer Kachroo), resident of Wuyan Khrew
2. Shabir Ahmad Khan, resident of Lethpora Both have multiple drug-related cases registered against them and were allegedly supplying narcotics to youth in Pampore, Awantipora, and surrounding areas.
They have been shifted to Central Jail Kot-Balwal, Jammu.
This crackdown follows increasing concerns over drug abuse in South Kashmir, with police intensifying operations against suppliers. (Source: JKNS)
