A security personnel deployed for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2025) was injured Friday when his service rifle accidentally discharged at Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The injured officer, identified as Constable Shabir Ahmad of the Quick Response Team (QRT), sustained bullet wounds to his left foot during the incident at Mini Line security camp. He was immediately evacuated to PHC Pahalgam where his condition is reported as stable.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the accidental firing incident, which occurred amid heightened security arrangements for the ongoing pilgrimage. (Source: JKNS)
