Constable Altaf Ahmad Bhat died Thursday after an electric explosion near a transformer outside a Budgam police station.
The officer, on sentry duty, was knocked unconscious by the blast and later declared dead at a nearby hospital. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, with medico-legal procedures underway.
