NIA Court Issues Proclamation Against Hizb Chief Syed Salah ud Din

A special NIA court has issued a proclamation order against Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin (Mohammad Yousuf Shah) in a 2012 terror funding case, directing him to appear before August 30 or face property attachment.

The court’s move under CrPC Sections 82/83 marks a procedural escalation in the decade-old case, which involves allegations of orchestrating terror financing networks in the Valley.

Security agencies have urged public cooperation to trace the accused, though experts view the notice as largely symbolic given Salahuddin’s known cross-border presence. (Source: GNS)
