A 32-year-old man from Drugmulla sustained severe injuries in a violent attack at Kupwara bus stand on Sunday. According to officials speaking to Kashmir News Corner (KNC), the assailant—identified as a resident of Malik Mohalla, Kupwara—used a sharp-edged weapon during the assault. The victim was initially treated at SDH Kupwara before being referred consecutively to Handwara Hospital and finally SMHS Srinagar for specialized care due to critical injuries.
Kupwara Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt for the accused. Preliminary reports suggest the attack may have stemmed from a personal dispute, though authorities are verifying all possible angles. Forensic teams are examining the crime scene while hospital authorities prepare a detailed medico-legal report documenting the nature of wounds.
