Srinagar, Apr 23– In the aftermath of the brutal Pahalgam terror attack, the Jammu and Kashmir government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh for each deceased victim’s family, Rs 2 lakh for the seriously injured, and Rs 1 lakh for those with minor injuries.
While the Chief Minister’s Office condemned the attack as a “barbaric and senseless act of brutality,” critics question whether monetary compensation can truly reflect the value of lost lives, sparking a debate over the role of government aid in terror tragedies.
“All arrangements for transporting the victims and treating the injured are in place,” the CMO stated, assuring justice will be pursued.
