Budgam, June 13 (KDC): Two employees sustained injuries in a transformer blast at the Receiving Station Budgam on Friday officials said.
Officials told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that the injured have been identified as Junior Engineer (JE) Hitesh and Manzoor Ahmad Dar, son of Ismail Dar and resident of Khanpora Budgam, who is in charge of the receiving station.
According to official , the blast occurred during routine operations at the receiving station, leaving both employees critically injured. They were immediately rushed to District Hospital Budgam for treatment. However, due to the severity of their injuries, doctors referred them to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital in Srinagar for advanced care, he said.
The Power Development Department (PDD) is likely to initiate an internal inquiry to ascertain the lapses, if any, that resulted in the blast. (KDC)
