Three young laborers died instantly when their JCB excavator tumbled down a mountainous stretch near Sounder Dachan on Tuesday. The victims – Nazir Hussain (23), Ishaq (26), and Majeed (28) – were residents of Bhalessa area working on a rural road project.
Preliminary reports suggest the heavy machinery lost control on the treacherous terrain, though the exact cause remains under investigation. The bodies have been moved to Kishtwar District Hospital for autopsy as authorities examine whether mechanical failure or driver error caused the tragedy.
This marks the deadliest construction equipment accident in Kishtwar this year, prompting calls for stricter safety protocols for hill road workers.(Source: JKNS)
