In a bold political move, IPS officer Mohammad Nurul Hoda has resigned from his prestigious post in protest against the controversial Waqf Bill, signaling his entry into active politics. Formerly serving as an Inspector General (IG) in the Railways, Hoda is now set to enter the political battlefield with a mission to represent and lead the Muslim community in Bihar. Reports suggest he may join the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP).
Hoda’s resignation comes at a time when political tensions are rising in Bihar ahead of upcoming assembly elections. His decision underscores growing discontent among segments of the Muslim population regarding changes in the Waqf laws, which many believe infringe on community rights and autonomy.
Hoda has publicly expressed his intent to work for educational reform, social justice, and empowerment of marginalized communities, especially Muslims in Bihar.
Meanwhile, BJP has launched an aggressive campaign against the opposition RJD, questioning the presence of absconding MLAs in the party’s ranks. The saffron party shared posters on social media, showing faces of three RJD legislators—Rit Lal Yadav, Shambhu Nath Yadav, and Manoj Yadav—who are currently wanted by police. The post has sparked a fierce online debate, with BJP asking: “Do you want corruption in power or a safe Bihar?”The political slugfest is likely to intensify as both BJP and RJD gear up for what is expected to be a fiercely contested election.
Nurul Hoda’s entry into the fray adds a new dimension to the evolving political landscape, especially among minority voters.
