India Lifts Ban on Several Pakistani YouTube Entertainment Channels

In a partial reversal of its earlier decision, the Indian government has quietly restored access to several Pakistani entertainment channels and celebrity social media accounts that were blocked following April’s Pahalgam terror attack. YouTube platforms like ARY Digital, Hum TV, and Geo Entertainment, along with Instagram accounts of actors Yumna Zaidi and Ahad Raza Mir, are now accessible again.

However, major Pakistani news outlets including Dawn, ARY News, and Geo News remain banned. The April crackdown, which also affected ex-cricketers Shoaib Akhtar and Basit Ali’s channels, was implemented as a national security measure.

No official explanation has been provided for selectively unblocking entertainment content while maintaining restrictions on news media.
