The India Meteorological Department has warned of potential flash floods in 12 J&K districts, including Kathua, Doda, Rajouri, and Baramulla, over the next 24 hours. The alert cites moderate risk levels due to forecasted heavy rainfall.
Local disaster management teams have been activated, with authorities urging residents in vulnerable areas to avoid waterlogged zones and riverbanks. This comes weeks after similar alerts led to evacuations in Ramban and Kishtwar.
The IMD will issue updates every six hours, with emergency services on high alert across the notified districts. (Source: GNS)
