Locals in Gagangir discovered dismembered human remains in the Sindh River on Tuesday, prompting a forensic investigation.
Police retrieved the body parts with FSL teams working to establish identity and cause of death.
Authorities have registered a case, suspecting the victim may have been swept downstream during recent heavy rains.
The discovery comes ahead of IMD’s flash flood alert for July 16-18 in Kashmir. This marks the third such riverine discovery in Ganderbal this year, raising concerns about unaccounted fatalities. (Source: JKNS)
