Srinagar, August 5: In a tragic incident, a young man from north Kashmir’s Handwara area was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his rented accommodation in Srinagar’s Norbagh locality early Tuesday morning.
The deceased, identified as Waseem Ahmad (age not specified) from Tampora village of Handwara in Kupwara district, was discovered unconscious by neighbors at his residence in Bismillah Colony. He was immediately rushed to SMHS Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival, sources told Kashmir News Corner (KNC). While preliminary reports suggest no visible signs of injury, police have registered the case and launched a thorough investigation to ascertain the cause of death.
Forensic experts have been called in to examine the scene. The incident has sent shockwaves through both the local neighborhood and his native village in Handwara, with family members demanding a comprehensive probe.
This marks Another death of a youth from Kupwara district in Srinagar within the past year, raising concerns among civil society groups about the safety of migrant workers and students in the city.
