A tragic road accident claimed the life of a local businessman on Thursday morning in Srinagar.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the incident occurred as the man was on his way to procure goods for his small business.
The deceased has been identified as Farooq Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Nowgam. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that Bhat, aged around 35-36, was a father of two, a daughter and a son, and ran a small shop selling groceries.
In a recent weeks, he had also started selling bananas to supplement his income.According to witnesses, Bhat left home after Fajr prayers on Thursday to purchase banana cartons from Parimpora mandi when the accident occurred.
His sudden death has sent shockwaves through the Nowgam community, with neighbors describing him as a hardworking and friendly shopkeeper.
Authorities have reached the site and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
