A 17-year-old girl’s body was retrieved from a power canal in Ganderbal’s Haknar Fraw area on Sunday. Shabnam Bano, daughter of Nazir Ahamad Khatana, had gone missing since April 5, prompting a search operation by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and police.
The rescue team worked tirelessly to locate Shabnam, and their efforts paid off when they found her body in the power canal. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
This incident follows a similar case on April 4, where a 17-year-old boy, Junaid Ahmad Khan, was recovered from the same power canal after drowning. The authorities have taken steps to address safety concerns in the area.
