Awantipora Police Conduct District-Wide Crackdown on Banned Literature

In a major enforcement drive, Awantipora Police carried out coordinated searches at multiple bookshops across the district on Wednesday to seize literature banned by the Jammu & Kashmir Home Department. The operation, conducted under strict legal supervision, aimed to curb the circulation of materials allegedly promoting secessionist ideologies and radicalization.

A police spokesperson stated that the raids were part of compliance with recent government directives targeting content deemed “detrimental to national sovereignty and integrity.”

Teams from all police stations—including Pampore, Tral, and Khrew—participated in the day-long operation, though officials did not disclose specific titles seized or arrests made.
