A gunfight has erupted between security forces and militants in Akhnoor area in Jammu district, official sources said.They told news agency Kashmir Bulletin that upon receipt of specific inputs, security forces cordoned off Keri Battal area in Sunderbani Akhnoor.
“As the security forces intensified the cordon, the hiding militants opened fire, which was retaliated thereby triggering off an encounter,” they said. The intermittent exchange of gunfire was going on, when this report was being filed.
