Anantnag Police Rescue Abducted Minor Girl, Arrest Accused in Swift Operation

In a meticulously coordinated two-day operation, Anantnag Police successfully rescued a 13-year-old girl who was abducted from Dooru on July 19.

The accused, identified as a migrant laborer working on electric pole installation in the area, was apprehended in Handwara following intensive searches across multiple districts.

Authorities registered FIR No. 55/2025 immediately after the disappearance and formed a special team under SDPO Dooru’s supervision. Technical surveillance played a crucial role in tracking the suspect’s movement through Srinagar and Sopore before his capture.

The minor was found unharmed and reunited with her family, marking the second such successful rescue operation in South Kashmir this month. Police commended the operational team’s efficiency while urging parents to maintain vigilance.

The accused, who had been working locally for three months, is being interrogated to determine possible accomplices or prior offenses. (Source: JKNS)
