The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly opposed a resolution submitted by Peoples Conference president Sajad Gani Lone, calling for the restoration of Article 370 and Article 35A. BJP spokesperson Sunil Sethi deemed the resolution “against the Constitution” since decisions made by Parliament cannot be revisited in the Assembly. Lone’s resolution, submitted to the Assembly secretariat, condemns the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A and advocates for the reinstatement of Jammu and Kashmir’s pre-August 5 constitutional status. The BJP’s stance is clear, but it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold.Interestingly, Lone’s move has sparked attention, especially given the National Conference’s previous criticism of the Peoples Conference as the BJP’s “B team” .The developments have also led to opposition parties using similar terminology against J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
