.

Khrew, Pampore – Recognizing the growing threat of air pollution in Khrew, primarily due to cement industries, Jammu & Kashmir Eco-Watch has launched a large-scale afforestation initiative titled “Go Green Khrew.” This flagship initiative, endorsed by Advocate Nadeem Qadri, aims to combat pollution, restore ecological balance, and improve the quality of life for the local community.

The initiative aims to plant 10,000 trees in Khrew, Pampore, and urges responsible citizens to join hands in this crucial endeavor. By contributing to this initiative, we can collectively mitigate pollution, enhance the green cover, and reduce the adverse impacts of carbon emissions.

Go Green Khrew is not just about plantation – it is a vision for sustainable development. In addition to afforestation, we are committed to restoring natural water sources and promoting sustainable water management practices through spring rejuvenation. We also aim to educate local communities about the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable development, and transform Khrew into a model town with modern facilities for its residents.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Zahid Moghal, Regional Director, Department of Social Forestry, for his unwavering support to the VIHI District Eco-Restoration Project endorsed by UN – Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, 2021-2030. We also appreciate the active collaboration from the office of Divisional Forest Officer, Pulwama Madam Gazala Abdullah and Range Officer, Mr. Shah Reyaz along with his dedicated Team of Officials.

Together, let’s make Khrew greener, healthier, and more sustainable for future generations! We invite all stakeholders to join hands with us in this mission.
