Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir – Senior Advocate Fayaz Lone has sent a legal notice to the Commissioner Secretary Tourism, condemning the decision of allowing a semi-nude fashion show at Gulmarg during the holy month of Ramadan. The notice has also been placed before the Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir, seeking treatment of the matter as a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) to initiate action against officials and participants involved.

The fashion show, held on the snow at Gulmarg Kashmir, not only featured semi-nude models but also served liquor, sparking widespread outrage among the public and politicians. The organizers have since apologized and deleted the video from their official handles.
Advocate Lone’s move aims to hold accountable those responsible for the event, which was deemed disrespectful and insensitive to the local culture and religious sentiments. The PIL seeks to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future and that the authorities take necessary steps to prevent them.
The development highlights the importance of upholding cultural and religious values, particularly in sensitive regions like Jammu and Kashmir. It also underscores the role of civil society and legal professionals in promoting accountability and safeguarding community interests.
