Baramulla, Aug 31, KDC: Police in Baramulla have unearthed a conspiracy involving three individuals who allegedly planted a fake Improvised Explosive Device (IED) to falsely implicate a local resident in Tangmarg.

A cordon and search operation was launched and a suspicious package was recovered near the main gate of the house. The bomb disposal squad later confirmed it to be a plastic box resembling an IED but posing no explosive threat.
A case (FIR No. 56/2025 under sections 329(3), 324(6), 248 of BNS) was registered at Police Station Tangmarg and investigation was initiated. During the probe, police identified Sajad Ahmed Ganie, a resident of Nowgam Sumbal, as the prime accused. He was arrested after going into hiding.

Investigators said the two had conspired with Ganie to frame Manzoor Khan due to a long-standing matrimonial feud.Police said all three accused have been served notices under the relevant provisions of law and the case will be pursued before the competent court.
