In a sudden directive, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Baramulla has instructed more than six schools in the district to immediately dispatch their buses to Government Degree College (GDC) Baramulla, setting a strict one-hour deadline for compliance.
The order, issued on Wednesday, further mandates school heads to coordinate closely with the district administration and the ARTO office for smooth execution.
Schools have also been told to submit vehicle details, including the driver’s name and contact number, to the ARTO office headquartered in Sopore.“Non-compliance will be taken seriously,” the order warns, adding that failure to meet the directive could lead to the immediate cancellation of vehicle registrations without further notice.
The directive comes amid a series of exam postponements in the region. Kashmir University has deferred all examinations scheduled through May 10, while Cluster University Srinagar has postponed those slated for May 8.
