Tourists Defeated Fear, Kashmir Will Always Remain Part of India : Dr Farooq Abdullah

National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah visited the family of Adil Hussain Shah, a braveheart who lost his life while saving tourists during the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. Dr. Farooq stated that the attack failed to instill fear among tourists and locals, asserting that Kashmir will always remain an integral part of India. He praised the tourists for defeating the agenda of those who sought to spread fear.

During his visit, Dr. Farooq handed over one-month’s salary of Pahalgam MLA Altaf Ahmad Kaloo to Adil’s father, Hyder Shah, as a mark of solidarity. Dr. Farooq also called for a review of the Indus Water Treaty (IWT), citing its adverse impact on Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the region’s potential to generate thousands of megawatts of electricity, yet facing power shortages.

Dr. Farooq emphasized that the sacrifice of Adil Hussain will not go in vain and termed him a symbol of Kashmir’s hospitality and courage. The bereaved family thanked Dr. Farooq for his visit and support. Dr. Farooq’s statements underscore the need for addressing regional issues, including water and power shortages, while reaffirming Kashmir’s place within India. His visit to Adil’s family demonstrated solidarity and support during a difficult time.
