The Hon’ble Special Designated NIA Court, Pulwama, has issued a proclamation against the absconding accused, Mr. Mohd Yaqoob Sheikh, S/o Abdul Salam Sheikh, R/o Namblabal, Pampore.
The accused is reportedly a member of the proscribed and unlawful organisation Jammu and Kashmir People’s League, which is banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
This proclamation has been issued in connection with FIR No. 24/2024, registered at Police Station Pampore, for offences punishable under Sections 10 and 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Sections 121 and 121A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), relating to waging war against the Government of India and conspiracy thereof.
The accused has been evading arrest and has failed to appear before the Investigating Agency despite repeated processes. Therefore, following the due process of law, the Hon’ble Court has issued the proclamation to secure his presence for the ongoing investigation and legal proceedings in the case.
