Dr Darakhsha Andrabi Announces Salary Hike for Waqf Employees

The WAQF Board has announced a significant salary hike for its employees, aiming to improve their financial well-being and address long-standing disparities. Chairperson Dr. Daraksha Andrabi revealed that the revised pay structure categorizes employees based on skill levels, with skilled employees earning Rs 18,000 per month, semi-skilled employees earning Rs 16,000, and unskilled employees earning Rs 15,000.

Other benefits include a 20% hike in basic pay for regular employees working in the Shrine Space and Central Office, as well as for pensioners and family pensioners. Teaching faculty at P.B. Halima College will receive a 15% hike, while Imam-o-Khadeeb, Naib-e-Imam, and Mauzins will get a 20% increase. Additionally, administrators appointed in different Dargahs will receive a monthly allowance of Rs 2,000.

Dr. Andrabi emphasized that this decision is a historic step towards rectifying the long-standing injustices faced by WAQF Board employees, who had been underpaid for 20 years, earning as little as Rs 4,000-5,000 per month. The salary revision aims to enable employees to celebrate Eid with dignity, provide quality education for their children, and ensure a better standard of living.
