Heavy Snowfall to Hit Kashmir, MeT Issues Advisory

The Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory warning of an active Western Disturbance that is expected to bring widespread moderate rain and snowfall to Jammu & Kashmir from February 25 to 28. The system is likely to bring heavy snowfall in middle and upper reaches of Kashmir, including popular tourist destinations such as Gulmarg and Sonamarg.

The weather advisory has warned of transportation disruptions, particularly along key routes such as the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. Travelers and transporters have been urged to plan accordingly. Tourists and locals have been advised to remain cautious, while farmers have been advised to suspend irrigation and other farm-related activities during this period.

A significant fall in daytime temperatures is expected across the region, and authorities have urged people to take necessary precautions and stay updated with weather bulletins to avoid any inconvenience.
