The ancient Achabal spring in Kashmir, which had mysteriously dried up due to a rain deficit, has been revived after an elderly woman’s emotional plea. Saja Begum’s viral video, in which she begged the spring to return, seemed to echo the region’s grief over environmental neglect. Shortly after, the rains arrived, and the spring was reborn.
Locals are stunned and relieved, with some attributing the revival to divine intervention. “It was like the spring heard her cries,” said Ghulam Rasool, a resident of Achabal. Another local, Fareeda Jan, remarked, “This is a sign from Allah. We have abused nature for too long, and if we don’t change, what dried once may dry forever.”
The revival has sparked hope and gratitude, with many believing that Saja Begum’s heartfelt plea was heard beyond the heavens. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the spring’s disappearance.
