The Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of JKPDCL, Pampore, met with a delegation from Peoples Welfare Trust, Khrew, to address concerns about flat rate billing. The AEE clarified that consumers who received a flat rate bill of Rs. 1560 for January 2025 will have their fees adjusted based on their actual unit consumption.
If consumers have already paid the flat rate bill of Rs. 1660, but their unit consumption requires a lower payment, the excess amount will be considered an advance payment. This amount will be reflected in the smart metering bill once the billing mechanism is transferred.
The smart meter consumption rates are as follows.
Upto 200 units/month: Rs. 2.30 per unit.
201-400 units/month: Rs. 4 per unit.
Above 400 units/month: Rs. 4.35 per unit.
Fixed Charge: Rs. 8/KWt per month.
Consumers are assured a smooth transition to smart metering billing, and excess payments will be adjusted accordingly.
