Naseema Begum (45), a Kupwara native residing in Bemina’s Firdous Colony, died instantly after being struck by a Duster vehicle near the SDM office on Tuesday.
Doctors at JVC Hospital declared her dead on arrival. Police registered FIR No. 74/2025 under BNS sections 281/125(A) at Bemina Police Station.
The incident marks the third fatal pedestrian accident on this NH stretch this month.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the fleeing driver as victim’s family demands justice.
