A 12-year-old differently-abled boy lost his life on Friday after falling into a canal near his home in Check Ramnagri area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Officials said the boy, identified as MuhammadHussain Dar, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, accidentally slipped into the canal while playing close to it. Locals immediately took him out from the canal and shifted him to the District Hospital Shopian, but doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated necessary legal formalities. [KNT]
