02 Tippers Involved in Illegal Extraction of Minerals Seized in Khrew

In a continued effort to combat the illegal mining of minerals, the Awantipora Police have intensified their operations across the district, leading to the seizure of two vehicles involved in unauthorized activities. The action took place in the Khrew area, where a police team from the local station, led by Station House Officer Inspector Naieem Rashid, intercepted and confiscated two tippers. The vehicles, registered under the numbers JK13B-4411 and JK01AT-7704, were caught in the act of illegally excavating and transporting minerals.

Following the seizure, a formal case has been registered at Police Station Khrew to address the violation. The First Information Report, numbered 62/2025, has been filed under the relevant sections of the law that govern mineral extraction and transportation. This legal step initiates the official process to hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions.

The Awantipora Police have reaffirmed their commitment to this ongoing drive, stating that such operations will persist to protect the region’s natural resources from unauthorized exploitation. A thorough investigation into the incident has been launched to uncover the full extent of the illegal operation and identify all individuals involved.
